Help & Support
Find answers fast — or ask us directly. A real person reads every message: support@rosterhire.com
RosterHire connects sports organizations (schools, clubs, leagues, teams) with coaches, referees, and officials. Organizations post jobs and search talent; talent build a profile, set availability, and apply.
1. Open RosterHire and tap Create Account.
2. Choose how you'll use it: Coach / Ref or Hiring / Employer. This choice is permanent for the account, so pick the side you're on.
3. Enter your email — we'll send a 6-digit code. No password to remember, ever.
4. Enter the code and you're in.
Anyone can browse jobs. You'll need a free account to view talent profiles, apply, post, or message — that keeps the community's information protected.
Yes for talent, completely. Organizations get one open listing free at a time; Pro unlocks unlimited posting.
There are no passwords on RosterHire. Every sign-in emails you a fresh 6-digit code. Codes expire quickly and only work once — that's what keeps password-free login safe.
Check spam/junk for mail from rosterhire.com, wait 60 seconds (codes are rate-limited), then tap Resend code. Wrong address? Tap Use a different email on the code screen. Still stuck? Email support from the affected address.
An account's role (Coach / Ref or Hiring / Employer) is set at sign-up. If yours is wrong, email support@rosterhire.com and include which role you need. If you genuinely work both sides, use separate emails.
Everything lives on the Profile tab: your talent or organization profile, job alerts, blocked accounts, availability, and the legal pages. That's also where you'll find Delete account.
Profile → Delete account → confirm. Your profile, photos, listings, applications, and conversations are permanently removed. This can't be undone.
For organizations: posting, applicants, and talent search.
Open the Post tab and fill in the role: title, organization, sport, level, type, city, and pay — more detail brings better applicants. Add schedule, requirements, certifications, and application settings as needed, then tap Post job listing. It goes live at the top of the Jobs feed.
Need an official fast? Tap the red Emergency Fill card on the Post tab: sport, position, date, pay, done. It posts flagged Urgent so nearby officials see it first — and officials with emergency alerts for your city are flagged the moment it goes live.
Applicants appear at the bottom of your job's page — each with a full profile, availability, and one-tap messaging. Move candidates through your pipeline: Shortlist, Hire, or Decline. When the role is closed, tap Mark filled — it leaves the feed and frees your posting slot.
Free accounts keep one open listing at a time. Mark your current listing filled to free the slot, or upgrade to Pro for unlimited posting.
Open the Talent tab and switch between Coaches and Referees. Search by name, sport, or city; filter by sport. The Available only filter is on by default — switch to All talent to see everyone. Open a profile to see experience, certifications, and availability, then Message or Invite to apply.
Yes — open your listing and tap Edit; changes go live immediately. A listing you've marked filled can be Reopened later.
For talent: profiles, applications, availability, and alerts.
Go to Profile → Your talent profile. Add your name, a one-line headline (it's the first thing employers read), and a photo — profiles with photos get noticed. Select your sports, levels, and (for officials) positions, then add your city, experience, rate, certifications, and a short bio.
Lead the headline with your strongest credential — "WIAA-certified basketball official, 10 seasons." Only list certifications you actually hold; organizations verify.
Open a job to see pay, schedule, requirements, and who's hiring, then tap Apply now — the organization sees your profile and application immediately. Track everything under Profile → Your applications with live status: Submitted → Viewed → Shortlisted → Hired. "Viewed" means they opened their applicant list; "Shortlisted" means you're a strong candidate — expect a message.
Your badge tells employers whether you're taking work: Available, Available from a date, or Not available. Flip the switch on your Profile tab anytime, or pick a future date in your profile editor — when that date arrives, your status flips to Available automatically. Employers' default search shows available talent, so keeping this current directly affects how often you're found.
Go to Profile → Job alerts and choose the sports, levels, and city you care about — matching jobs are flagged in a banner at the top of your Jobs tab. Officials: turn on emergency officiating alerts and add the cities you'll travel to; urgent fills there are flagged the moment they're posted.
Only organizations you apply to. It's not shown publicly.
Congratulations! You'll see Hired 🎉 on your application and get a message from the organization. We'll also offer to flip your availability to Not available so you stop getting pinged.
Organizations message talent first (about a role). Talent can always reply. This keeps inboxes free of spam. Conversations about a job show a "Re:" banner — tap it to see the listing. Keep hiring conversations on RosterHire: it gives both sides a record, and safety tools only work on-platform.
Block anyone from their profile menu (⋯) or a conversation menu. Blocking stops all messaging between you, both ways; their conversations disappear from your list; and they are not notified. Unblock anytime under Profile → Blocked.
Report a person from their profile ⋯ menu or a conversation ⋯ menu; report a listing via "Report this listing" at the bottom of any job page. Pick a reason and submit. Reports go to our team, are kept confidential, and the reported user is never told who reported them.
Organizations own their vetting. Verify credentials and follow your background-check and safeguarding policies — especially for roles with minors. The "background check required" flag on listings communicates your requirement to applicants; RosterHire does not currently run checks itself (built-in checks are on our roadmap).
For talent: legitimate organizations never ask you to pay to apply, or to move the conversation off-platform before basics are established. If something feels off, report it.
Yes — only you and the other participant can read it. Our team accesses messages only to investigate a report or when legally required.
Your profile is visible to signed-in users only — never publicly scrapeable. Job listings are public in the app; messages are private to participants.
No and no. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't show third-party ads. The full details are in our Privacy Policy — written in plain English, about a 6-minute read.
Delete your account (and everything in it) anytime under Profile → Delete account, or email us. Your profile, photos, listings, applications, and conversations are removed. Questions about your data: support@rosterhire.com.

Several of our best features started as user emails. Use the subject line "Feature request" and tell us the problem you're trying to solve, not just the feature. We prioritize by how many people a change helps.
Partnerships, leagues and associations, schools and districts, press: email with subject "Business inquiry". Tell us who you are, your organization, and what you have in mind. We answer these personally.
