The short version
- RosterHire is the marketplace. You (talent and organizations) make the hires.
- Be honest on your profile and listings. Be respectful in messages.
- Organizations own their hiring decisions and their legal obligations — especially for roles working with minors.
- You can leave anytime, and we can remove accounts that break the rules.
The full terms below are the legally binding version.
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and RosterHire governing your use of the RosterHire app and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you're using RosterHire on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes it.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You must provide accurate information and use the Service in your own name (or your organization's real name).
- You may not use the Service if we've previously removed your account for violating these Terms.
3. Your account
Sign-in uses one-time email codes — there's no password. You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your email account secure. Tell us right away at support@rosterhire.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
Your account role (talent or organization) is chosen at sign-up and determines what you can do in the Service.
4. What RosterHire is — and isn't
RosterHire is a marketplace platform. We help sports organizations find coaches, referees, officials, and other sports professionals, and help those professionals find work.
We are not a party to any hire. We are not an employer, staffing agency, or agent for any user. That means:
- Organizations are solely responsible for vetting, interviewing, hiring, classifying, paying, and supervising anyone they engage.
- Talent are solely responsible for the accuracy of their profiles, credentials, and their own performance and conduct.
- Any employment or engagement relationship is strictly between the organization and the talent.
- We don't guarantee that any job will be filled, any work will be found, or that any user is who they claim to be.
5. Community guidelines
RosterHire works because both sides can trust what they see. We expect everyone to:
- Be truthful. Real names, real credentials, real jobs, real pay.
- Be respectful. Professional communication — no harassment, hate, or discrimination.
- Be responsive. If you post a job or apply to one, follow through or close it out.
- Keep it on-platform. Use RosterHire messaging for hiring conversations so both sides have a record and safety tools (blocking, reporting) work.
6. User conduct and prohibited activities
You agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent profiles, listings, credentials, or reviews;
- Impersonate any person or organization;
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against other users;
- Post jobs that are unlawful, deceptive, pyramid schemes, or unrelated to sports work;
- Use the Service to collect users' personal data, scrape content, or contact users for purposes unrelated to hiring;
- Circumvent safety features (including blocks), or create accounts to evade a block, suspension, or removal;
- Upload malicious code or interfere with the operation or security of the Service;
- Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited promotions.
7. Talent responsibilities
If you use RosterHire as a coach, official, or other professional, you're responsible for:
- Keeping your profile, certifications, availability, and experience accurate and current;
- Only claiming credentials you actually hold;
- Complying with the rules of any league, association, or governing body you work under;
- Your own conduct in any role you accept.
8. Organization responsibilities
If you use RosterHire to hire, you're responsible for:
- The accuracy and legality of your listings, including pay information;
- Complying with all applicable employment, labor, wage, and anti-discrimination laws;
- All safeguarding obligations for roles involving minors — including background checks, SafeSport or equivalent training, and supervision requirements that apply to you;
- Properly classifying and paying anyone you engage.
A "background check required" label on a listing is set by the posting organization. Unless we explicitly state otherwise for a specific feature, RosterHire does not itself conduct background checks or verify credentials.
9. Job posting rules
Listings must be for real, current, sports-related openings. Listings must not include discriminatory requirements that are unlawful for the role, misleading pay claims, or requests for payment from applicants. Mark positions as filled when they're filled. We may remove listings that violate these rules.
10. Messaging rules
Messaging exists for hiring-related conversations. Don't use it for spam, promotions, solicitation unrelated to a role, or harassment. Repeated unwanted contact after someone stops responding — or after they block you — is a violation. Both participants can block and report from inside a conversation.
11. Fees and paid features
Basic use of RosterHire is free. Certain features — such as expanded posting for organizations, subscriptions, or premium accounts — may require payment. Pricing, billing terms, and cancellation rights will be clearly presented before you're charged, and payments will be handled by established payment processors. If a paid feature has additional terms, they'll be shown when you sign up for it.
12. Intellectual property
Your content stays yours. You own the content you post — profiles, photos, listings, messages. You grant RosterHire a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the Service. You can end this license for a piece of content by deleting it (or your account), except for content that others need to retain context (for example, messages you already sent remain visible to the person you sent them to).
Our platform stays ours. RosterHire's name, logo, app, and design are our property. Don't copy, modify, or create derivative works from the Service.
Feedback you send us can be used by us without obligation to you.
13. Account suspension and termination
You can stop using RosterHire anytime and delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account).
We may suspend or remove accounts, listings, or content that violate these Terms, create risk for other users, or break the law — with or without notice depending on severity. Where practical, we'll tell you what happened and give you a chance to respond at support@rosterhire.com.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any user, listing, or credential is accurate — verify independently before you hire or accept work.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: RosterHire will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, arising out of or relating to the Service — including disputes between users, hiring outcomes, or conduct of any user on or off the platform. Our total liability for all claims will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Some states don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify RosterHire against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right — including employment-related claims arising from hires you make or accept.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Wisconsin will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes that can't be resolved informally — but before filing anything, contact us at support@rosterhire.com; most issues can be resolved quickly and directly.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as RosterHire grows (for example, when payments, verification, or reviews launch). Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them. Prior versions will be available on request.
